Step into the 22 – an ode to a fan

Are we alone and aim for success for our self, and claim all credit when we win. Or are there people behind us rooting for our success, like our parents, family, friends and fans. They make us believe in our dream… they are there when we are sad and down. They see our tears and cry alone for us, and pray in silence… for our success.

This poem is dedicated not only to the Pune Warriors team, but also to all of us who have to keep rising and face the challenge of the world – in life, in exams, in trust, in love and in hate.

This is a story of a cricketer… and their ode to their fans.

This is a story of a student… and their ode to their teachers.

This is a story of a son… and his ode to his mother

This is a story of a daughter… and her ode to her father

This is my story… and

This is our story!

When I step into the 22

Once more I step into the 22
To prove correct your belief in me
To put a last stand for your trust in me

Once more I step into the 22
Your blood, sweat and tears giving me the courage to stand up
With your cheers and cries motivating me to keep going on

Once more I step into the 22
Not to loose, but to give one final push to my body, mind and soul
To put up a good fight for my opponent to remember

Once more I step into the 22
To live for our dream, or to die a warrior’s death
And if I die may I have the honor to be born again for you

Once more I step into the 22
To rise up and to learn again
Learn to face the music of the world again

Once more I step into the 22
To redeem myself for the prayers and sacrifices you have done
And to be remembered as your Prince

Satyameva Jayate: 1st Show Report – Intelligently Done.

Just finished watching Amir TV show…. Satyamev Jayate.  We knew he would be different, and we knew it would be a talk show and someone even said it would be like Oprah Winfrey. We it is still that… but it is Indian in heart.

The first show as about female feticide aka abortion. The show started with a couple of interviews of victims, and it was heart wrenching to hear it. In my mind, it came why doesn’t he speak about Punjab (great Punjabis), as the biggest sex ratio difference is there. And guess what… it came up.

Then I remembered a movie, Matrubhoomi: A Nation Without Women (2003), in which it was shown that there will come a time when there will be no women left in country if abortion continue.  In that movie a single lady is married off to a group of men who are brothers, and in the first night the father have sex with the lady. It was a nerve wracking movie. And poof… Amir showed a village where the sex-ratio is so screwed, that the men don’t get any female to get married.  And later told about location where woman are bought and sold for marriage.

The show had multiple elements to engage the social media generation on. It was nice to keep having a live interaction in SmJ (SatyaMev Jayate), FB page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Baramulla-Bomber/134048753296487#!/SatyamevJayate

My thoughts… we should have a show on Dowry and Big Marriages…. almost all of us are guilty of that. One reason people want boy is due to dowry reasons. Those who give dowry, take dowry, attend big marriages and want to have a big ceremony our self are guilty.

May be men (not boys), should take a vow not to take dowry and tell their parents that it is time!

And now for the cause:
Do you want the Rajasthan government to set up a fast track court to process female foeticide cases?”
Pledge your support to this cause by SMSing Y to 5782711

I eagerly look forward to the next show. I may be travelling out of the country for sometime, I need to find out ways where I can watch the missed show.

If Oprah had a ‘O’ in end of her show, Amir has an ‘a’ at the end. And this ‘a’, I hope is beginning of we the common people asking questions on ourselves. The more question we ask ourselves, the answers will be needed. None of us are bad inside, but the surrounding forces us to take decision, which we would not have done. Its time to stand up and be counted…. Lets all of us keeping asking questions and keep following up for the answers.

Other shows: Kashmir, Naxalite, Religion conversions. Leave no one now Mr. Khan. I am joining soon 😉
